MOUNTAIN BIKING: Wasatch Trail

← CO UNCOMPAHGRE RIVER OURAY CO Single Tracks →

Description

HARD HARD HARD RIDE!!!!!!

This is the most arobic and technical tralil in the world that I would even consider draging my bike on. I hiked the Blue Lake and Bear Creek portions of the trail and saw that it was going to be difficult. The trial starts at 8,500 feet and goes well above 13,000 feet. You better not have any problems with altitude if you want to survive this trip.

The beginnings of the Bridal Vail portion is mostly switch back jeep road and the first climb of the Bear Creek portion is mostly wide fire road, but after that YOU WILL EARN THE RIGHT TO SAY YOU DO NOT SUCK ANY MORE!!!! Depending on your pref. this is the run down

START Bear Creek Sketchy asent and fast desent

START Bridal Vail gentle asent and techy downhill.

there is so much that I have left off but try to ride at altitude (8000+ ft.) for atleast a week or two before first attempt. Rember, even if you are very strong at 5000 ft. all bets are off past 11,000 feet.

Directions

Start in Telluride and find the Bear Creek Falls trail head. Go along the Bear Creek for about 4 1/2 miles and bare right onto the Wasatch Trail that goes up from there.&& Or you can start at Pandora Mine north of town (1 mile) and proceed to the Bridal Vail house through the gate and fallow the Blue Lake Trail until the Wasatch sign (5 miles) and go right.
